Google has announced game-changing updates to its AI-optimized cloud, featuring fifth-generation TPUs and NVIDIA H100 GPUs. Companies like Gridspace have reported a 5x increase in AI model training speed using the TPU v5e. This move highlights the demands of generative AI and large language models, which have seen their ‘parameters’ increase tenfold annually. Another notable advancement is the introduction of Multislice technology, which supports scaling of AI models beyond the physical limits of TPU pods.     Lithuanian telecommunications and IT service provider TEO Group announced in mid-December that it will be opening a new Lithuania data center.The Lithuania data center will be the eighth one owned by TEO Group and is expected to cost $3.6 million.     Cloud service provider Atlantic.net announced in mid-December that their new California data center, opened in the San Francisco Bay area, will be their first West Coast facility. The Santa Clara data center will be the company's fourth facility and was built to meet growing demand from companies in Silicon Valley.     Internet and cloud infrastructure firm OVH announced in mid-December that it is working to raise $327 million to rapidly increase its international data center portfolio. OVH CFO Nicolas Boyer that the money raised during the new round of fundraising will help to finance an investment program of almost $500 million.     European mobile device retailer Carphone Warehouse announced in early December that it is building a new Dublin data center. The $7.5 million Ireland data center is part of a larger $37 million investment to build out the company's upcoming cellular network. The new facility will help to support the network, with hardware being supplied by German infrastructure vendor Mvneco and Huawei.
