Google has announced game-changing updates to its AI-optimized cloud, featuring fifth-generation TPUs and NVIDIA H100 GPUs. Companies like Gridspace have reported a 5x increase in AI model training speed using the TPU v5e. This move highlights the demands of generative AI and large language models, which have seen their ‘parameters’ increase tenfold annually. New America-Europe Connect Subsea Cable To Be Built By AquaComms

Data Center Operator Level 3 Announces Quarterly Reports
Level 3, a major networks services and data center provider, announced its first quarter reports at the end of April. The organization, which operates over 250 carrier-neutral data centers across three continents, has had a strong outlook through its first quarter.Overall, total revenue increased to $2.053 billion this quarter as compared to $2.003 billion in the first quarter of 2014. North Carolina Data Center Renovations Completed By CentriLogic
Managed hosting firm CentriLogic announced in late April that it had completed the second phase of upgrades at its Lenoir, North Carolina data center. A 4,000 square-foot section of the facility underwent multiple phases of enhancements in order to be able to support CentriLogic's cloud and enterprise hosting business.The newly renovated site will be used by Dacentec, CentriLogic's bare-metal dedicated server division. EMC and Iron Mountain To Continue Building Underground Data Centers
EMC has partnered with Iron Mountain this April to build underground data centers, designed to keep back-ups of critical information. Their flagship underground Pennsylvania data center is 220 feet beneath the earth, and has recently picked up a new tenant: Seagate.
