Amazon.com’s recent announcement to open corporate headquarters in London with room for 5,000 staff only added more credibility to London as a tech hub and the desirability of the greater UK.
Newcastle is among the outlying cities experiencing increased development. The region is becoming known for software startups and a culture that encourages technology, including over 50 coding clubs attracting thousands each month. Overall around 90,000 tech and digital companies have put down roots in the region and employ around 32,000 people in this sector.
