Westchester Data Center Used By Virtual Density

Virtual Density announced in early July it would be running its portfolio from colocation services provider vXchnge's Westchester, New York data center. Virtual Density, a cloud computing and managed IT services company, offers solutions like cloud storage, managed backup and disaster recovery, and email archiving and IT support.

The vXchnge Westchester data center is located about 35 miles outside New York City and serves businesses that require geographic diversity and reach, allowing customers like Virtual Density to deploy high-density applications.

"Unlike other data centers we have worked with in the New York metro area, vXchnge's Westchester facility is uniquely able to handle our dynamic growth requirements in high-density computing and keep things running smoothly for our clients," said Chris Furey, managing partner and CTO of Virtual Density.

vXchnge purchased eight facilities from Sungard Availability Services at the beginning of May in order to offer more services to edge markets. Those facilities include an Oregon data center, Texas data center, Minnesota data center and North Carolina data center, among others.
