Data Center Finance: OnRamp Names New VP of Operations

Hybrid cloud hosting and colocation services provider OnRamp named a new vice president of operations June 16. Matt Hammons, who has extensive experience in management of data center services, will oversee data center operations for the company, along with other business functions such as customer satisfaction and service delivery.

Hammons previously worked as director of engineering for Rackspace, where he spent six years before joining OnRamp. He helped launch Rackspace's Sydney, Australia data center.

OnRamp has three facilities in the U.S., including two Austin data centers and a Raleigh data center. The company offers services in private and hybrid cloud infrastructure and colocation. The first Austin data center was OnRamp's first enterprise-class facility. The company's second Austin data center, which opened in 2014, is a 42,000-square-foot facility that offers secure hosting solutions for several industries, including health care, financial services and education.

"OnRamp brings simplicity to the increasingly complex hosting market where regulatory frameworks govern the storage and transmission of sensitive data of all types," Hammons said. "I'm honored to join a dedicated and skilled team to help make customer's lives easier."
