New Jersey Modular Data Center Expansion Planned for Sentinel Data Centers

Sentinel Data Centers kicked off October by announcing plans to significantly expand its Somerset, New Jersey data center. The expansion will create an additional 200,000 gross square feet and 20 MW of critical load. The facility currently consists of 230,000 square feet and is nearing capacity.

Sentinel’s New Jersey data center was originally built as a modular data center, enabling clients to customize the power densities and resiliency levels on a granular basis within their own dedicated suites. The new space created by the expansion will also be built using modular designs.

The expansion of the Somerset facility is currently in its third phase and space within the data center is already available for pre-leasing. Sentinel plans to have the New Jersey data center online by the second half of 2015.

Expanding the New Jersey facility is the most recent addition to Sentinel’s fast-growing portfolio. In just over a decade, Sentinel has developed more than 1.6 million square feet of data center space and 120 MW of multi-tenant and build-to-suit solutions.
