Between Facebook’s custom hardware architecture and data center environmental management, they have taken the typical total power consumption ratio to compute power consumption from 3:1 down to 1.04:1 at this facility. While this is interesting technology management, being so close to the arctic circle isn’t always advantageous and WiredRE would typically advocate for other alternatives for our data center clients.
