China Data Center Opened by Pacnet

Pacnet announced at the end of October it had opened its China data center in Tianjin.

The Tianjin data center is Tier III certified and offers 226,000 square feet of space. The new China data center is located within the Gaocun Science and Technology Innovation Park in Tianjin and will provide SDN capabilities, as well as offer the capacity to host 2,000 racks.

The facility also boasts N+1 and 2N redundant power and provides customers direct access to multiple major domestic exchanges and points of presence. The new facility will be connected to China International Data System's Beijing data center through a Pacnet Enabled Network, which leverages software-defined networking to deliver flexible bandwidth.

"We are excited to launch one of our largest data center facilities in the rapidly developing city of Tianjin," said Pacnet CEO Carl Grivner. "The facility further reaffirms our capabilities in meeting data center needs of both domestic enterprises, and multinational corporations in the world's fastest-growing economy."
