Internap New Jersey Data Center Goes Online

High-performance hosting services provider Internap Network Services Corporation recently announced the opening of its newest New Jersey data center. The facility, located in Secaucus, N.J., is the company’s 12th facility in the U.S. The data center adds more capacity to Internap’s New York Metro area footprint and offers top hybrid IT infrastructure services to an ever-growing market.

The multi-tenant data center for lease is expected to reach about 94 percent utilization in 2014, the company stated. Internap plans to add 55,000 square feet of space over time to expand the facility further. The hybrid portfolio of solutions that will be made available to tenants include adaptable and highly-automated solutions such as AgileCLOUD, a virtual platform, and AgileSERVER, a bare-metal cloud that blends the scalability of a virtualized cloud with the performance of a dedicated server. Managed hosting, colocation and provided cloud services, streamlined through a “single pane of glass” portal for enhanced control, will offer clients a full fleet of data center services.

“IT infrastructure services are playing an increasingly powerful role in delivering a competitive advantage to Internet-centric organizations through agility, scale, performance and control,” stated Mike Higgins, Internap senior vice president of data center services. “Our new Secaucus facility will empower customers across a range of industries in New York and beyond – from mobile app developers and digital advertisers to financial services and Fortune 500 companies – with high-performance, hybrid infrastructure services designed to meet their application needs throughout the complete business lifecycle.”

Advanced Design Supports Uptime, Dense Power
Among the Secaucus facility’s data center design features are N+1 redundancy and concurrent maintainability for all infrastructure components in order to provide maximum uptime. Scalable power supplies climb to 18 kilowatts per rack, which Internap stated is one of the highest offerings in the industry. The power will also be scalable, as it can be added in-rack instead of through the consumption of more servers and floor space. A high-efficiency uninterruptible power supply, a cooling system that utilizes outside air and facility construction with reclaimed materials complete the green, energy efficient design.

Internap’s proprietary Managed Internet Route Optimizer, which relies on 11 major Internet backbones, and its global content delivery network ensure premium connectivity from corporate offices to data centers, as well as between the company’s other U.S. facilities. The New Jersey data center will be connected to other facilities in the New York Metro area, and Internap offers data centers in the Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Santa Clara and Seattle markets. The company also operates with partner sites in six more U.S. locations and has facilities in several European and Asia-Pacific markets.
