Memphis data center upgraded by Expedient

A Memphis data center is being upgraded and expanded by Expedient. The Pennsylvania-based company is beginning a $5 million project to add greater processing and storage capacity to this and other data centers. The organization's current strategy has lead it to pursue continuous renovation of many facilities, including its Ohio data center.

The new Memphis data center expansion will be located in what used to be a Hilton Hotel data center.

"We believe the Memphis market will be a great complement to our existing network of interconnected data centers," said Expedient Chief Operating Officer Shawn McGorry  in October. "It will bring an additional geographically diverse option for our current client base, as well as a local market solution for the attractive and growing Memphis commercial sector."

The creation of this wing opens up new opportunities for companies in the southeast, given the lack of other options in the region. The new 35,000 square foot Tennessee data center is likely built to capitalize how fresh this region's market is.
