The Vineyards LLC is bringing to market a 100+ MW master-planned and sustainable data center development, Vineyards Data Center Park, in Colorado Springs, for lease and occupancy in 2011. The Vineyard Data Center Park is complimenting an already established data center market in Colorado Springs, with current occupants including Hewlett Packard, Verizon Wireless, FedEx and Progressive Insurance, among numerous firms who have sought low-cost power and a sustainable design. The Vineyards site is expected to feature up to 800,000 square feet of high density data center space, biomass fueled renewable and inexpensive – approximately four and a half cents – power, and Enterprise Zone status, allowing for tax credits on the purchase of capital equipment and furnishings. The Vineyards, the City of Colorado Springs, and Colorado Springs Utilities have jointly developed the data center park from concept, creating the first public-private partnership of its kind in Colorado Springs. Public and private investment in the park could total $1 billion.
