California Data Center Bought By Westcore Properties

Westcore Properties purchased a California Data Center alongside a three-story office building in Sunnyvale in late January. Qwest Communications, a subsidiary of CenturyLink, was and is currently the sole tenant of the data center.

For now, Qwest Communications will remain the only tenant with a signed five year renewal contract on the lease with Westcore, which will accept other bids for tenants later in the year.

"We will be undertaking a major renovation of the office complex, which will help us to attract strong tenants," said Marc Brutten, Westcore chairman and founder, "We anticipate meaningful demand for space throughout the property once it is completed in the middle of this year."

Westcore is a San Diego, California commercial real-estate firm. They purchased the 165,000 square foot property for $52.7 million from WTA Kifer, a real estate LLC. Thanks to this purchase, the organization now owns 3.5 million square feet of commercial space in and around the San Francisco Bay Area.
